Theres usually a socket in the Launderette or toilet block that I use, not necessarily to get a full charge but if you take the paper you can read it and get enough charge to see you through, if your with a friend you can always take in turns going in the shower and let it charge up for longer (kids are good for this job!)

I'm going to buy one of those wind up radio/phone chargers once I've sorted out which one!

However I do take the point about various sockets etc you can find for charging and that some sites will arrange for the phone to be charged. Thats great because it seems pointless to get EHU if you have no other use for it.

To be honest, I find the wind-up chargers a waste of time.  The one I bought didn't work well at all because the gears inside kept slipping.

I find the keyring chargers better.  It is (by definition) a key-ring where one end attaches to your phone and the other plugs into an ordinary 9v battery.  Saves a lot of effort!

Cheers, Havn't disctounted that and my scooter is in for service next week and may get it done.

Also found that when I asked the question of one or two sites I am thinking of for early April about "charging facilities" didn't seem to be a problem. Thanks for replies.

I bought my OH  a windup torch/radio/phone charger last month, he loves it and yes it does charge the phone, and it doesn't make your arm ache to wind it.

Sounds perfect. Can I ask which/where?

Thanks, Ian

Try buying a 12v power pack that you can charge up at home and take with you. A decent one is only about £30, although you can pay more. I have one thats about as big as a lap top case and charge it up and take it every weekend. The 12v output will be ok for your in-car charger to run off. Also saves having a flat car battery after charging phone , or blowing beds up with 12v pump !     chris
