If it rains, then it rains. Just one of the wonderful aspects of the great outdoors.

Luckily all our lot have grown up and left home now but I'm sure we'd think twice if we still had little 'uns and the weather looked very poor for the period away. Keeping them entertained in a tent with it piddling down outside must be a nightmare.

When we're camping, if the weather's dull, wet & windy (preferably, a warmish south westerly), I fish!... If the weathers hot and sunny, we do other nice things , walk on the dunes, picnic, bike ride, etc...

Either way I win, isn't nature wonderful!...

I just go for it, even if forecast is a bit dodgy I'll risk it and just go and book in somewhere. More often than not the forecast is wrong. Have been in a couple of down pours but I make sure I have waterproofs with me, even the grandkids aged 3 and 5 enjoy it regardless of weather. Just make sure you can keep warm and dry and have fun.

Ive been camping when the weather was fine and sunny, only for it to turn cold at night and when i woke in the morning there was frost on the ground and tent and my zip got stuck. its all part of the fun.

even been swimming in an outdoor pool in the rain - that was an experience!

when we were kids we lived near an outdoor pool. a group of us used to sneak in after closing on summer nights for a free swim. i remember one night while we were in the poole the heavens opened and there was a full blown electric storm, horrendous lightening. now that really was scary.
