Always take my dog with me camping.  Just me and him so tend to do loads of walking and check out dog friendly places around that we can visit together.  Also I'm a National Trust member....their handbook is really good....tells you what places are dog friendly, some even have doggy creches!  If the weather isn't too hot I sometimes ring ahead if I fancy going somewhere that dogs aren't allowed and ask if they have any shaded parking available.  OK if you leave the windows open a bit and aren't away hours.  Wouldn't leave him in the tent....he'd bark the place down.  Even through the night he'll have a little grumble if he hears a noise.  Mind you that's why I like taking him.  A great security guard when you're camping alone!

Also why not check out http://www.dogfriendlybritain.co.uk/index.asp  for more ideas of where to visit with your dog.  It's quite a new site so they welcome additions to their listings too!

Thanks Muddydog

I'm hoping Sam will be our security guard, although sounds fierce he'd robably lick any intruder to death!

I'm livid I'm working Sat nigt and all day Sunday otherwise we'd be in the tent now and I wouldn't be  on here!

I hope everyone going away this weekend has a fab time x
