Take it back. That shouldn`t happen. Pole sleeves get a lot of pushing and poking and twisting when you put the poles in and they have to be able to take it. Sounds like it has a major quality control problem.

Then take your cash to a decent camping shop and have fun looking at all the new season`s tents.

Return it to Makro and get your money back - bargain or no bargain - it sounds as though there was a weakness in the fabric and as such it is/was not of merchantable quality.

Many, many thanks to everyone for their views! Just to clear up one point - it was an inner sleeve that tore, we didn't get as far as putting the outer on!!

Still, it's right that Makro should be made aware of the fault - which I shall be doing - but we have decided to take it to a firm a few miles away to have all the sleeves looked at and re-inforced if necessary - as pointed out - they need to be able to withstand quite a lot of use.

We've had a footpath tunnel for over 10 years now and I do love the 'cosiness' of it, plus in high winds it is brilliant (talking Scottish Gale Force here  during a cycling trip end to end!!) - but alas, age doesn't come alone eh and the old joints are not what they were, hence the larger model.

Once again - thanks everyone for your views - much appreciated

Carry On campers!
