We are insured through the Camping and Caravanning Club.  The premium was £40 per year and it covers the tent and all contents (tent & utility tent for £360 and contents for £1500).  Insurance covers us at home and whilst camping and also for storm damage.

Don't suppose that one of you is looking at the Caravan Club website and the other at the Camping and Caravanning Club website ?

Sorry I have only just seen this thread again.

I was already a member of Camping & Caravanning Club but as Carole31868 said there are 2 options and if I remember correctly you get a discount if you are a member.

We decided against putting stuff on home insurance for 2 reasons. Firstly if we did have to claim it would increase our premium and I have heard that the increases can be quite large because you lose any no-claims you may have accrued.  Secondly, our insurance company could not offer us comparable cover (such as storm damage).

HTH

Hi RoseMae,

thats interesting, it seems very difficult to insure for all eventualities, it seems that the C&C Club is the best option so far

Ours is simliar to this, I can't remember how much extra it was though. We thought it was worth paying the extra to cover us camping, as well as things like our digital camera etc.
