thanks very much for the understanding everyone. We were shattrered lol, the next moring he slept till about 7.15 which we felt was ok. Hey we wont be put off, its just difficult at the time. On a more positive note his big brother (3) was a wee angel all weekend. wish that would last !!!! lol.
I think if a kid woke me up crying then I wouldn't mind, but I'd expect the parents to quieten the kid pretty quickly.
Easy for me to say though as neither of my kids cried much at all. Chloroform works quite well though but then you have to put up with a kid with a head ache after, if you give them vodka they just pass out
dont feel too bad. I can see both sides to be honest, being woken at 5am by a wailing child isnt so great whoever you are!
BUT yu shouldnt be put off camping. Can I just ask did you settle your children at the same time you woud have at home? I always found mine woke with the dawn unless we kept them up an hour or so later than bedtime at home becuase light coming in would waken them unless they were shattered, that might be worth trying next time you camp
No, at home they go dwon at seven. At the weekend lewis went down at about nine. It was difficult because we knew when he woke in the morning that he was still tired, but hey he was in (up) mode. We tried to comfort him ( and those around us) but to no avail, so we all had a long and tiring day ahead ( apart fro him of course who fell alseep in his buggy grrrrrrrrr lol.
Ok I know its not nice being woken in the early hours by a little one - yours or someone elses. However if the parents are obviously doing their best to soothe the little one then it's not a problem. I always make sure that I have plenty of things like Calpol with me - then if a one of mine has aches or pains I can does them up. I will never forget the weekend when Pip had tonsilitis - spent he night saying "Ow". Spent the next day in casualty getting anti biotics. I think there is a world of difference being woken up by a child needed attention and being woken up by children whose parents couldn't be bothered to get off their rear ends, while the children wake everyone else up.
