Thanks for all the info about the Vango V - am wondering about the Vango Delta, whether it may be a better size.  Are there any other tents out there with decent headroom but perhaps a 3-person, around the £60 bracket, max.  I see it's not just the tent, because there's the whole matter of what to sleep on, etc, this is just the beginning of the shopping!

Eurohike has a tent with 135 headroom at £50.  Is it better to go for a Vango Delta with little less headroom at around the same price?

All these decisions, lots of dithering!  All advice appreciated,

Heading out for first recce of tents right now, hope it will all become clearer.

United british caravans have a wynnster shrike 6 for £60, it's actually a little bit bigger than the vango.

If you are going to be living in it for two weeks, you could really do with headroom and a living area. Unless, of course, the two of you can happily spend two weeks without needing to stand up ;-)

If you have a wet day, you may just want to just sit in a chair, read a book and watch the world go by. You can't comfortably do that with something like the Delta.  Take a look at some tents to try get a feel for living in it.

Although it can be expensive if you want it to be, you can get the rest of the kit really quite cheaply.

To be honest I'd go along with what other posters have said on this thread about headroom and more room in general, but if your not sure about what to go for why not buy a cheap one then when your in Wales there maybe a few local tent displays, would imagine there'd be more than in London anyway.

If headroom isn't a problem for you have a look at the Gelert Malvern from Halfords (reduced to £14.99) which comes complete with 2 free sleeping bags. Available from here.

Gelert is a popular brand on here so is good quality but I'd personally go for something bigger and better, the only reason I'm suggesting the cheap tent option is that tent buying as you're discovering isn't easy, we have bought about 6 tents before we found one that ticked all our boxes and you will undoubtedly be the same.

I wish you luck with your search and hope you have a great fortnight when you get to Wales, we have just come back from North Wales and if the weather is as good for you as it was for us, you'll have a great time.
