always outside unless the weather is against us but then only in the porch area without the children anywhere near!!  Have new Monty 6 tent with the porch awning so will cook underneath that with the windbreak around to be used as a wall for the outside kitchen area!

last camping trip did that in Scotland while cooking steaks on bbq, rain started so was hunched over the hibatchi with the huge Umberella covering us both (me and the bbq)  trouble is you get really smoked ,but on the plus side no midges !

They`re a great little piece of kit, aren`t they? We even take ours on picnics for sausages and a cup of tea.

Hi

I cook outside when using tent and then when the stoves etc are cool fetch them into the tent. If bad weather I eat out

However now i have a tt it has a specific area designed for the kitchen unit which is special material so i am safe to cook in awning / kitchen area (or with my cooking maybe not!)

I cook inside the trailer tent - but used to cook outside in the other tents.  However last year I invested in a Kitchen tent, which made a mega difference - no more cooking in wind and howling rain.

Do a search on here for Outhouse. I've just ordered one because the reviews seem good, and it is very competitively priced. Someone on here uses one and has a picture of it "in use"in their gallery, so you can see how the kitchen stand and cooker fit in it.

We cook in the canopy of our Hartford. We used to have a gazebo with our old tent and cooked in that.

i have the outdoor revolution outhouse from the uk campsites shop £38.99 its the best thing ive bought this year plenty of room for kitchen stand plus storage boxes etc infact when we took it it stood up to quite windy weather unlike the gazebo which lasted 1 hour before collapsing.

Val in her profile pic demonstrates the real plus point of a Sunncamp Utility tent - it's a frame tent design so you've finally got somewhere to hang things up given that most tents now don't have anywhere to hang tent tidies etc.!

We use to cook out side and use a fishing umberella and a windbreak around it, just put it low over the whole kitchen bit when finished and never had a problem with it blowing away and kept everything dry, but now they have the kitchen tents Id go for one of them they look really good. we have a tt now so no problem cooking in side if the weathers bad.

we've spent whole weeks stood by the cooker with an umbrella until last month we were offered an easycamp utility tent while in wales, cost £60 but was paid for by sympathetic parents and now we sit there trying to work out how much more we can fit in besides the camp kitchen, table, barbecue and fridge etc. we were told just to be careful not to let the sides touch the cooker or bbq and wouldn't have any problems. it's certainly improved our trips.

we use a khyam wind brake, the one with the so called sun shade ,  and make a little box shape /effect/thingy , and it is great for cooking in stops the wind on the stove.

I'll put my hands up to cooking in the porch of my tent. I make sure the table is well away from the wall and keep the front open. I have kids but they can't come through if I'm cooking. We've just bought a Nebraska XXL and the porch on that is even bigger than the Diablo.

In our sunncamp i use to cook under the porch pegged out and with the poles up till i got soaked by freezeing cold rain water running through the mesh screen. Now with the monty 12 i use a sunncamp day tent brill we would not go back to the old way plus its fire proof which we can testify to having try that out  not a good start to last years hols
