Sonja - never noticed them at the till - the ones i bought are the ones you carry around with you -  big straps - and only because they where at the till i bought 2.

We use them for when our little one sleeps out at her grandparents.

But will have a look when next in - wouldnt mind a see thro one myself.

I have tried the vacuum bags, even the JML ones and they always split on me, perhaps I am heavy handed!!!

We take a holdall each, with all our stuff in, but like the idea of putting seperate things into seperate bags, ie undies, never can find little DS's pants when I need a pair.

i got some of those too :)  But the big see through ones were with the storage stuff.

last time we camped i happened to have a child's plastic bucket with us and i found it very useful for keeping toiletries in. Next time i will take one specially.

We fit our suitcase in the roofbox and 1 case does 4 of us including my mother who hates wearing the same thing twice in a week even washed.

Lsst year I planned my clothes around a colour scheme and took 3 pairs of trousers, 3 shorts, 3 t-shirts and 3-long sleeved shirts, a jersey hoodie and 1 jumper. All in either black, white or red. That way whatever I grabbed went with something else without me having to worry about washing a top because I had nothing it went with. Worked really well for the 3 and a half weeks we were away. Did the same for the boys. Mum has agreed that it was a good idea and will do it too this year. We now have crocs so will probably only need 1 pair of shoes each :*).

Mind you I can't stand the sight of the clothes now having lived in them for so long. But they will be what I wear this year too.

 We used vacuum bags when we went away last year and I thought they were great. I agree the airpump doesn't suck as much air out as the hoover, but your going home and so it doesn't matter if things are a little'tight' in the car.

Been a bit of a clothes fanatic and liking a some order in the tent, the one thing that was concerning me with 3 weeks in a tent was crumpled clothes (I won't iron on holiday!!). I picked up a thread here last year and on someones reccommendation  bought a sort or tripod clothes holder from Matalan to hang things from.....it was fantatstic and a real sensible alternative to a rail/wardrobe for a dome tent. I also packed one of those collapsable storage crates (from poundstretcher) for each of us and put undies, t-shirt, shorts into those from the vacu-bags.

they roll up to expel the air so you don't have the problem with not having the hoover available.  I know that they are expensive, but they are made really strong plastic.

I think she might have been talking about these , if so then I think they are too expensive.  You can get them for alot less, and I know argos do both versions but not sure how much.

I use the vacu-bags and the ones that you just lay on the air disperses.  Get a pack of 3 in Matalans for £4.
