First trip started with 3 kids and Zafira and ended up with a roof box for the trip back. Tried not taking cooker for next trip to save some space but spent a fortune on food. Although we had so much rain I couldnt have cooked outside anyway. This year, waiting for a utiliy tent to be delivered so to save some stress and the Zafira suspension taking a ford focus as well!

As for saving money I have spent loads in the first year ( must be around £1000 but I dont want to think about it as it was supposed to be a no holiday year)  and now just want to go camping at the first sign of sun.

When mondeo estate and roofbox still wasn't enough room, decided that if we were going to tow a trailer, it might aswell be a trailer tent, as you still have loads of room for everything plus lovely comfy beds off the ground.

Now have Picasso and love it, we take a chair out of the back to make room for the 3 way fridge.

When we first camped back in the 70's and 80's we only had a beetle and getting enough in there was always a challenge.

Were about to start again and have now got a ford fiasco which will allow us to be better equiped than we were. Theres a lot more storage containers available for storing all the odd shaped items. We were looking around staples yesterday and they have all shapes and sizes and as well being better for storage should stop metal things rattling around or resorting to cardboard boxes that soon get beaten up.

When we first started camping we had a skoda octavia which was great only the 3 of us and all our gear fitted snuggly.

But now

2 years later still only the 3 of us plus a labrador and his crate and now huuby is on dialysis so have loads of medical supplies to cart with us we now have a Renault Grand Scenic with 7 seats and we leave 2 of the middle seats  at home for added space.
