The next thing you'll have to worry about is the RSPCA/Forestry commission panicing about a rabies outbreak with all these animals running around with foaming mouths!! :-) :-)

We make a point of putting all scraps of any sort into the bins each night. The only thing that went in the hedge was the washing up water (no sinks at this site), which would have had odd tiny scraps from the plates and saucepans.

I have to say that I am mainly concerned from a hygiene point of view. I don't object to animals doing their own thing in their environment, and investigating the tent etc. which I have introduced into their environment. I just want to avoid getting ill. We cleaned up as thoroughly as we could, and all food and utensils were safely away, so hopefully no problems there.

Not having stuff damaged, and sleeping *fairly* undisturbed are also important. Of course I don't expect silence, I can sleep through wind and rain and minor scuffling/snuffling, but I can't ignore loud scrabbling and gnawing, and worry that the inner tent will get nibbled through.

You people talk about Ray Mears, but I had no idea that some many people on here trained for years to be knowledgable  in the identification of Rat, Hedgehog and Mouse Poo.  I can picture the qualfied certificates hanging on your wall with pride of place.

Was it a evening class or distance learning course people took?
