I do not possess a football shirt, and I am not clinically obese - ok I could do with loosing the odd pound or two, but you couldn't say that I was obsese. I am perfectly capable of reading something harder than Beacon Book 1 (old fashioned reader), in fact somewhere I have a bit of paper saying that I have a degree. Nor am I a teenage single mum, in fact the oposite, not starting my family until I was 40. Yet we have had a couple of good holidays at Haven sites, both hiring a static and camping. The children have loved the children's shows, and my daughter was totally besotted with Bradley. Just because we chose a Haven site did not mean we spent the evening in the bar, getting totally drunk while the kids ran riot. We used to go the the children's show, and then go back to the tent, the children going to bed, and Richard and I playing cards with a cup of tea, or may be something slightly stronger, but just the odd one. Some days we have stayed on site and made use of the pool or the children's afternoon show, and other days we have gone out and about to places of interest in the local area. At Greenacres we spent time on the beach. Similar type of thing as friends do - also well educated/good jobs do with their daughter when they take her to Haven.
Yes I know that there are chavs there, but they are everywhere. Simply going to a commercial site does not make you a chav/beer swilling yobbo/teenage mum with uncontrolled screaming kids who are running riot.
We also do sites with very little on them. Showers are a must, especially the state my two get into when playing. I also look for a play area, as it is a good indication as to the likelyhood of there being other children on site.

I think it was the sarcastic bit about reading books that did it, you implied that the ones that want a quiet holiday are boring and sit reading books.
Nothing boring about reading books, except maybe as a spectator sport! You can find anything you want in a book - action, mystery, humour, romance, suspense, or even enlightenment.
It's quiet sites for me every time. We always pick sites within walking distance of a pub so we can have a drink if we want, and that way we actually get to meet local people instead of just other trippers. I've found quiet, small sites generally friendlier and better run, and we avoid EHU pitches as I hate overhearing people's tvs.
All we want in the way of facilities are decent showers and lavs, and maybe a shop that hires out ice packs for the cool box. It's nice if they'll order a paper for you, too, I do like to read the paper while tucking in to my eggs and bacon, but I'm not too fussed.
