I have to say that Me and Mrs Johnny managed to setup and pack away without a crossed word.
Just take time, keep calm, and accept ideas/comments from each other... especially the first few times!

Any others out there who don't let hubby call the shots.
On our practices I've been the one telling him what to do!
Here! But that's because I've been camping since I was smaller than knee high to a grasshopper, and before we got together, he'd been once...
It works well... Although I can tell he gets a bit frustrated, he wants to do more, wants to help more... but to be honest, there's not all that much to putting up our tent... I can put it up on my own in under 5 minutes... so there's not all that much for two of us to do...
Hmm... maybe we need a search category on the Tent Reviews section of "Gives the other half something to do..."?
Lets see if he still feels the same way the next time (if ever) we take the Gelert Satellite 6 out for a fortnight or so..... lol!
When we first started camping me and hubby used to come very close to a full blown row, then we realised it was just not worth it and made a huge effort not to snap at each other when pitching. Nowadays we're so practised in our roles that things usually go smoothly, but theres still the odd time when we have to grit our teeth and smile!
Its usually me thats in charge too, i'm just better organised than him, and remember the set up better.
We never argue EXCEPT when putting up and taking down our tent!!!!!

I was reading this, smugly thinking that we didn't argue once when putting up our folding camper and awning. Commented on this to DH just now, who did point out that we have a statistical sample of one trip to go on and my smugness might be a little bit premature !
