the tent poles!!!!

Yes hubby did forget to put them in a long long time ago.  We had driven an hour and half in traffic to the New Forest, get the tent out and lo and behold no poles.  Luckily as had taken our older DS friend, we had a small 3 berth tent, so hubby took dog, baby and drove home and I spent the night in the small tent with the boys and hubby came back in the morning.

Not something he will forget ever again, I wont let him!!!!!

things I HAVE forgotten in the past...Corkscrew, baby wipes,  toilet rolls, first aid kit, pillows (now keep under seat in car) , mattress inflator pump, washing up liquid.

I now have everything in rucksacks / sturdy small cool it bag ready to go and fully stocked as soon as possible once we get back ..e.g I have a small black overngiht bag /  rucksack for : plates, spoons , knfies, chopping board, pans, bowls, wooden spoon, tongs etc.. and just wash re pack when I get back.

I have a small square thick padded bag (like a cool it bag from poundshop)  with Tea and Coffee box , sugar,  washing line & pegs, travel wash, washing up liquid, T towels, gas lighter, herbs, olive oil, oxo cubes, custard powder, hot chocolate, salt and pepper etc..agan all re stocked for next trip as soon as I can when we get back. Dead handy as I know exactly where everything is.

I now have a 4 page list and tick off as I pack - i know this is a bit sad but I know exaclty what I need and never forget anything ....

P.S My hubby forgot to pack the poles once too...drove 2.5 hours!!

We had to lend the farmers tent!!!

On a recent trip got to the camp site, pitched the tent and the wife says "lets have a cup of tea" so set up the gas stove only to find I had left the rings at home..dohh

One thing I would not be without now is the fitted carpet can't believe the difference it makes
