We're just back

Didn't use:

The DS's, portable DVD and dvd's, handheld TV, pots and pans, one of the singleburners, gas heater, half the clothes we took (took wellies and waterproofs for the kids so saved on lots of dirty wet trousers), blow up pillows (never again!), some of the shoes (only need wellies, 1 pair walking shoes, 1 pair summer flats), wind up lantern (cos it's rubbish)

We didn't take any food from home but used local small, independant shops in nearby villages.

Oh yes, I forgot to pack half the top of the table- apparently even though OH got it out and packed it with out checking the bag!!

Great holiday though.

OH packed FIVE tables last time  he won`t be doing that again! I always pack too many clothes, then I pack books to read and always end up spotting bargain books in charity shops, so next time I am taking ONE book. Just watch, I won`t see any in charity shops next time.

can you camp near us please

we really were short of surfaces this time as i only took the two tier stand .. but i did find a good charity shop and bought three excellent books for when i finished the ones i took with me...  but i had to find room bring them all home as we hadn't both read all of them :(

I never have enough flat pack bins :(

and i used my clingons for the first time.

but i must retrench on the packing..

i lived without my little broom and doormat but i missed them both :(

had to buy a washing up bowl as i forgot to pack more than one tub trug.

but we didn't eat any of the tinned soup and i didn't miss the easy cook rice i left behind .. but we could have done with some more eggs and beans....

I have cut down as well; from now on its:

1 pair of flippen floppen (expensive German brand!) for showering.
1 pair of wooden clogs for damp weather and rainy trips to the loo.
1 pair of wellies for wet forest walking.
1 pair of waders for flyfishing.
1 pair of steel tipped walking boots for squirrel kicking
1 pair of leather slippers to walk around the tent with on dry, sunny days.
1 pair of comfy tent slippers for inside to spare the SIG.
1 pair of black leather boots for going out to wear with my black jeans.
1 pair of natural leather boots for going out to wear with the sandy jeans.
1 pair of trainers for those inbetween days...

See?

Lolol! I find footwear hard to cut down one. I have

sandals

crocs

walking boots

pair of boots or shoes for everyday use if it's not warm/dry enough for sandals

short rubber boots for on site if it's very wet/muddy

I fail to see how I can cut down any more, but then my middle name is Imelda!

This is an easy one for me... I have to wear prescription orthotics in my shoes (a made to measure plastic insole) which means I can't wear flip flops, clogs, sandals or high heels (not that I'd take those camping tee hee) so I just take... trainers. All weather, all terrains... my only concession this year being that I have 2 pairs for the first time ever!

The kids'll take trainers, sandals, wellies. Hubby'll take trainers and ... oh, just trainers! LOL!

Nicky

I had a T-shirt for every day and two pairs of shorts.

Who cares if you are going to get wet when wearing shorts?

The kids were wading in the ponds in torrential rain too.

having not long got back from first camp, we all did same, really overpacked on clothes, OH took 3 shirts - where was he going to wear those? i took 2 jeans, 2 shorts 3 cropped trousers, 2 jogging bottoms (to wear a PJ's, socks, loads of tops for every eventuallity and a jacker, in case of rain. It rained, i got wet, didn't wear short or cropped trousers, let alone the sandals, canvas shoes (2 pairs) did wear flip flops for shower, and trainers. didn't take wellies, decent rain mac or anything really suitable for taking down a tent in torrential rain. We are going again next week, not taking half of above stuff.

But if it had been hot and sunny, you'd have worn those shorts and sandals! That's why I end up with a lot of clothes, it's catering for whatever the weather might throw at us.

Still haven't had the satellite dish out the bag yet.

Been 2 years now.

Would consider selling it but not sure on pricing.

Have a look on eBay for pricing ideas - or even selling it on there?  Here's a link to give you some ideas...
