I love my carpet. Always used picnic rugs but got a good deal off ebay for my Vermont M.

Thought the idea was a bit "woossy", but practical as hell & great when walking around without shoes (Rule 1 - no shoes in tent). If you keep boots & shoes on then it's not for you.

Wouldn't put one down over a breathable groundsheet as some have suggested, negates the benefits. But our tent is SIG no no option. Plus, I#ve noticed that some sites with breathable groundsheet rules still allow campers with SIGs.

We recently stayed on a site for 8 nights, grass was yellow but still alive. If we'd had a longer stay it would have been reasonable to move the tent at some point.

 Hi Iam looking for carpet for my Coleman Quadspace with a floor area of approx 2.5x3.5, does anyone have any suggestions of alternative manufacturers that will fit my tent

vote here for a "proper" carpet. They keep the tent cosy, especialy first thing in the morning. Also they protect the ground sheet.

Keeping it clean is easy too, If there are any spils whilst away we mop and clean on the spot and then when when I get home I put it on the line and beat the hell out of it.... this bit is personnal choice stress therapy! Sane people just use a hoover.

OK, so I'm looking for tent carpet to fit our tent (Litchfield Vermont, frame)but it seems I can't find one. Isn't it possible to get a specific size of tent carpet without it being a brand name? I just want a rectangle piece of tent carpet. Doesn't even have to be 'wall to wall'.

I bought some 99p Ikea mats. 6 of them and they cover most of the tent floor. Great thing is shake them out even put them in th washing machine if you want.

Same here Lynm  I have had these mats for years and just pop them in the washing machine when/if they get dirty. Since joining here though I have got a picnic rug too and have never tripped over it nor had it move around. They make a big difference to the warmth in a tent so Im sure a carpet will do the same.

I have just got a tent which you can get a carpet for but wouldnt bother as I have enough rugs and picnic blankets to cover the whole area.

Hi, We got an outwell carpet for our indy 8, but as they didnt do the indy carpet (discontinued tent) we bought the SV8 one and it almost fits the whole living area. There is a gap of about 2 foot that we use at the front of the tent at the door area, and use it as a 'wet' area for boots, shoes and soggy coats!

Would recommend the outwell ones as they seem to be a lot momre robust.

Just look at the current tent models, and work out which one has a similar living space as yours. the carpet should be a close fit. No harm in allowing it to slip under the bedroom pods, or fold under to fit a slightly shorter space.

Well worth the money if you can also find one on ebay!

We found that really weird ,must be a bad design ,out Aspen GS is taught and flat and never shifts and inch

We thought about getting one but the washing issue is a major issue for us ,would smell of dog after a week!!

The rugs we can shake out as often as we like ,hang them on the camp washing line to air and de-dog and also easily fit in the washer ,.They have never moved around ,takes 4 for our Aspen living area and never had anyone trip either ,altho we all tripped over a tree route that we manged to pitch ontop of a few weeks ago

I'm going to our IKEA tomorrow to check it out. What sort of 'mats' are they? Are they carpet or fleece? Where will I need to go to look for them?
