Thanks Wendy. What diet did you feed her on to get rid of the brittle bone?

My big lad had a probelm in the nest and so when he came to me he had bow legs, his feet turned out and big knuckles on the end of his long bones!! Bless. The legs are nearly straight as are his feet, but the knuckles are still large - this is what is causing the problems now.

I like the idea of little pockets to put hand warmers in. I try to use a hotty on his shoulder at night, but as soon as I turn the lights out he gets up and moves!! A pocket would be the idea solution as it would go with him! Great solution. I might have to get the ols sweing machine out and chop up an old jumper instead of relying on my mum.

Cheers Wendy

No speacil diet as such she was on calcium and vit injcetins and then tablets from the vets plus lots of goats milks from us and a good dry food and lots of raw bones to chew on (never cooked bones) chicken wings. Its not a cure its more getting her stabel she still has front legs that look like an old clothe peg she doesnt put weight on no matter whats she eats and she gets trired quickly. but as long as shes happy and in no pain thats fine with us the minet we think shes unhappy and trust me with indy she will let us know lol. we will call the vets. she was a c cetion birth and the vet said if she had be born normaliy she would have died at birth. we haqve here litter sister now aswell whos as strong as an oxs and allso quiet abit bigger than her

Welcome back Wendy. Couldn't believe my innocent post for a knitting pattern for my dog let loose such a lot of other posts! Keep posting - love your dog pictures and what you are doing. My Border Terrier was also a rescue - I was his third home by the time he was a year old but he's with me forever now.

Best wishes Di

Thanks Wendy. My big lad gets bones and he did get chicken wings, but of late his stomach doesn't seems to be able to cope with them anymore, or poultry necks either - strange. I wonder if the goats milk would help - hmmm. I now give him rosehip tablets, but they take about 3 months to kick in apparently.

Thanks for the advice, and good luck with the new tent.
