I must admit that we never have had a problem with cup staining, we use melamine cups, bowls & plates and plastic 'glass' looking glasses, In my opinion I don't think camping/caravanning would seem the same with china and proper glass. Also the weight of melamine and plastic is a lot lighter than china and glass, so we are not added extra weight to our ever increasing camping/caravanning equipment. I also think these are a lot safer as well when we are away.
But each to their own, if we were all the same it would be a very boring place.
