Picnic blanket, it's good to have somewhere to plonk them down :) and let them slither, sit, squirm or crawl.

Agree also the layers at night, especially if it's going to be warm at night.

I did always find a back carrier or sling useful. I used one lots anyway but, depending on campsite, it can be a bit of a chore to keep pushing one over the grass, Buggies are fantastic for taking stuff over to the shower block LOL

Hello

We took our ten week old camping in august last year...

- His pram doubled up as a proper bed (bugaboo chameleon) but most prams with a proper carriage have mattresses so can be used as cots
- Boob feeding = easy in tent, especially for night feeds...bottle those disposable bottles and the little cartons of ready made formula for ease
- layers of blankets as others have said, temp does drop in the night
- don't go on hands and feet for temp - babies aren't good at temp regulation so often extremeities will feel chilly - test back of neck is a good indicator, if chilly then more blankets.
- sling for day plus pram for naps
- muslins will be your best friend...can be used for everything.

It was actually v easy camping with a baby - main concern was temp, everything else easier- they don't get more portable than this and the fresh air did wonders for my boys sleep

HTH

Please, please, please check with your pram manufacturer if your carrycot is suitable for overnight sleeping. In actual fact the Bugaboo has not passed any British Safety Tests for overnighting and shouldn't be used. Niether has the Quinny c/cot. Good overnighters are Bebeconfort Windoo, iCandy Apple or Cherry if you add a ventilated mattress, M&P c/cot from the 8or 9 in 1 systems. Any reputable retailer should be able to help you with this.

hi we have a 10 month and a 2 year old...

For sleeping the younger 1 sleeps in travel cot, which double up as a play area when need to keep them in check. They need to be warm but not over warm at the mo they both sleep in a long sleeve vest, pyjamas and a grow bag. Once they are asleep we put a blanket over them.

Sterilising bottles could be done in three ways...

Boil water in a pan, once boiled put bottles in 4 3-5 mins (thats how they did it when i was a baby, they didnt have all these fancy sterilisers then)

Microwaivable sterilising bags, i get mine from asda. Obviousely only suitable if you either have a microwave or the site does.

Milton sterilising tablets, tupperware tub and cold water. Leave soaking for 1/2 hour i think.

And most important just remember suncream and hats their skin is very sensitive. Hope this helps, and yes i would take a trolly. Would like to see anynody who can juggle shopping, baby and shopping!!!!!!!
