I have it on good authority that Gelert make a cheaper range that is rebranded and sold at places like Halfords and Argos etc.
They then have mid range, fairly high spec tents that carry the Gelert brand. Finally they have a premium, high grade range which is branded as their Gelert 'Beyond' range.
Can't say much about the quality of the basic gear, but if it offers people a chance to try camping then thats not such a bad thing. Also, I would think that people realise that the equipment isn't going to be as feature laden as a more expensive tent.
I will post a review of a 'Beyond' tent in a couple of weeks as I have just bought a Meridian 8. I have erected it once to check it and it seems awesome, just super excited to try it, I am off to Bournemouth at the beginning of July :)
