This site has a whole host of 'no water' ways to wash. However, if you have the space a stand up wash with a flannel is always good. I can recommend dry shampoo too. I have very long hair and a few squirts and brush through brings it up cleaner and softer than when I wash it with shampoo and water!

you could always use talc instead of dry shampoo.....does the same job 17

Unless you have dark hair as it makes your hair look grey 17 at least 'dry shampoo' can be bought in brunette.

baby wipes should suffice, not like your going away for a week.

When I did creamfields other year, 5 of us lads were ok with babywipes. Though a funny thing happened to one of the lads who was in love with his hair. Tried washing his hair with bottled water, 30 seconds in, he realized he had poured a bottle of vodka over his head. very amusing...

We camped 20 minutes up the road the other weekend, over the bank holiday, the site was pretty busy in the main field where the showers are, so I drove home to use my own beautiful shower and to wash and dry my hair!

The dirty hair bothers me more then a dirty body, but I'm a lady, I don't smell

Agreed. You still start with white hair with dry shampoo but it brushes out really easily.

I go with the bowl of water and a flannel. As a kid we used to go away on really basic sites without showers or loos. I remember the summer of 1976 when there was a massive drought. We used to wash in stream water in a bowl as the well on the campsite had dried up. We took a water carrier everywhere with us and begged at petrol stations and suchlike! It was fun! But I was only 6 at the time..

My sons' scout leader pointed out several good reasons why the boys don't wash at scout camp.

1. It adds insulation and keeps them warm

2. it adds a water proof coating which helps keep them dry.

3. if you were a wild animal would you eat anything that dirty therfore keeping the scout safe from predators.
