At home Meg sleeps either in her crate..or more recently(since her op) on one of them big doggy cushions...On camp I take her old moulded plastic bed with a few dog blankets for under her...and a few for over her if the temp drops...Have the obligatory corkscrew tether for her to roam about on and always try to make sure she is in the shade on those hot sunny days(when we get them!!)

Interesting post from you Moog56 re your daughters reaction to dogs(understandable in the circumstaces) I try when out with Meg to introduce kids of all ages to her in a controlled way..Ie with the parents permission...and with both myself and the parent supervising the situation...Of course there will be dogs who are not suited around kids/ people but Ive found that most dogs are loving/approchable softhearted pooches who only want a pet from most people..or a ball thrown etc...Glad to hear the dogs on campsites is helping her overcome her justifiable fear of dogs...Maybe some controlled meetings with one of the daft lovable neighbourhood dogs would reassure her that not all dogs are bad....

jelboy53, she has made friends with the hugest dog next door who is a big softy and this has helped her a lot. She loves camping and has been since an infant, you have no idea how reassuring it is for her when she meets a big softie camping. It's about the only place I've found to re-establish her trust as at the local park the dogs are off the lead and that get's her all nervy. It's been very good for her, she may never completely trust again but she has been able to appreciate most dogs are friendly.

So thanks to all those camping dog owners who have restored her faith somewhat.
