Well done Anne, Just wish it had been as warm in my tent the last couple of nights.

I have a shoulder problem, and have to get up every couple of hours to give it a shake about. It was minus eight when I looked at the thermometer (Yorkshire Wolds) First outing in my Eldorado !!! just could not resist a few days away in it.

Sadly, you have confirmed my fears that the Vango Peace will suffer from condensation, because of the inner proofing. I have the 800 for over nighting. I don't think Vango are doing it this year as it's not on their list. I may just sell it on, never used. But probably not !  I was also as warm as toast, except for the getting out and mooving shoulder about sessions.

I too remember frozen windows paraffin heater in the hall, and outdoor only toilet.

Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.

Hi Raf

How was the Eldorado? Looks a great little tent.

Don't be too hasty regarding the Peace - yes, it did suffer from condensation as I thought having felt the proofing inside - however I was very pleasantly surprised at the speed at which it cleared even though the weather was very, very cold. To me it is an interesting hybrid between a polyester and cotton canvas - the canvas wins hands down as far as breathability is concerned but the Peace was so much warmer than a polyester tent would have been, especially considering no inner tent. I am just so impressed at the speed and ease of pitching and will be interested to see how it fares in the warmer weather. Packing up was a doddle too - down, folded, rolled and into the bag in minutes. I really liked it - give yours a try and see what you think - I loved the 500 as a solo tent or for 2 but would hate to share it with 4 others + kit!! I would think the 800 would be a great overnighter or weekender.

I'm sure there's a word for people like you, Anne...........................

Well done for sticking it out - don't think I'd have been able to do it.
