Its too difficult to get a suitable pitch on a club site at peak times which means school holiday times are pretty much ruled out. Some club sites wardens are a little too "Organised" (im trying my best to be polite about it). CS sites can be very good, i've stayed at them as a member in past years but my gripe is that they are happy to advertise them as exclusively for members but in reality they'll take ANYONE! My close friends have been camping all around the UK at various CS sites and are not members of the C&CC - they've not been asked for a membership number or even higher rates than members, so its seriously flawed. The other "new" part of the C&CC club is also very anti tent - Forest Holidays. The tent only pitches are usually somewhat of a distance from the toilet/shower block and the decent pitches are now all being taken up by Timeshare forest lodges. I also feel the club is more aimed at the caravanner nowadays and the tenter is a bit of an inconvenience. I think the club do like to consider the tenter but at site level, they tend to forget our needs as they are overtly caravan orientated. As for the magazine. Its so biased towards caravanners and motorhomes it is unreal.

The person that earlier compared the "commercial" magazine subscription being the same price as club membership is right apart from the fact that the magazine caters for TENTS - something the Caravanning and (Camping) club doesnt seem to offer any more.
