I went for enamel plates, but you're just as well taking some of your lesser stuff from home, the kind of stuff you wouldn't miss too much if it got broken. No point splashing out on a matching set of camping table-ware when you're just starting out.
Did you manage to the Ikea coffee yet ?

No, nor the tenacious tape. I've been a bit useless these last few days, been feeling a bit run down.
I've left myself lots to do in the morning, as I'm leaving Bristol & off to Sussex til my ferry sails next wednesday!

I'm off to Ikea shortly to buy cheap pans. Must get some little bags and perhaps try the coffee. Dare not mention I'm going to DD or she will give me a long list.
While you're there this is great for a coffee kick when you are camping

I bought a double walled stainless steel cafetiere via Amazon for mine. But looks good. That reminds me time to put the coffee machine on lol.

I already bought a similar coffee maker, only its a 6 cup one (which means you can only just squeeze 2 mugs out of it), I paid £9.99 for it from ebay or amazon, can't remember which. Only wish I'd gone for the slightly bigger one now, I like the thought of a lazy morning spent reading & drinking cups of coffee by the tent.
Mind you, none of this will be happening if I don't get off here & get going!!!
Nutgone, I'm very much looking forward to your post holiday report. I'm going the day before you and it's horrible, this last couple of days. I've just heard that my sister has made a last minute decision to go camping in the New Forest, and here I am still stuck til tuesday doing boring things like cleaning the house.
I just wish Tuesday was here!!!!! Hurry up tuesday.
I will be posting a link to my blog at some point during my trip, unless something goes terribly wrong & the trip gets cut short or doesn't happen. It will probably be on my "single man off to france" thread on the camping & caravaning abroad forum.
I kind of wish next wednesday would hang on a bit! I've got the feeling I've missed a whole load of important things. But it's my first time on such an adventure, so that's probably just nerves.
