We've always done weekend camps at folk events with the morris men.
Annual holidays, for the last 25 years or so, we've always gone to the same wonderful site in Cornwall and stayed in a static for two weeks. Although it's lovely there, OH was vaguely frustrated that he hadn't seen enough of the rest of the UK, and so when he retired we bought a much better tent and updated our equipment, and now we still spend the two weeks at the rented 'van, but we also spend weekends camping in other places. It's great to be able to take shorter, more spontaneous breaks, and we love camping. Just occasionally, if it's a special anniversary or we have a particular reason, we'll have the odd night in a B&B, but that's rare now he's retired, as it's so expensive.
