Hello TB.
There is a problem with the image.
Firstly, there is a strange object on the right obscuring it.
Secondly, I cannot see it in its glory because the camera must've been in the adjacent county.
But seriously, I still have the 'newness' aroma of my tent.
All the other 'tenters' around you, must've been green with envy eh?
The design of your Ottawa looks similar to the one I had my heart set on a few months ago.
The dome for the sleeping area, and tunnel type porch.
You're set for many outings now I guess?
Kind regards James
Ha ha - correct the picture was more to show the lovely scenery. Sorry about the car. No idea who parked that pile of junk next to my tent. Some people eh!
To be honest James, I do think it's a decent looking bit of kit but I doubt it would spark true tent envy (not that I would notice/care in any case)
Yes - your description of the design is spot on. It's a good shape, but the bedroom area is actually bigger than the living space which seems a little odd? But all in all I am pleased with the £99 bargain and yes it will mean more trips.
If we go again this year I think I'd use the Trout Lake, but next year the Ottawa could well take centre stage on many a week-end trip
Can I ask something... Is the Trout Lake hard to erect? How long does it take? I want a new tent for weekends and was thinking about the Trout Lake but I want one that is quick to erect???

I know the place you mean now. We drove passed a sign to it on Saturday. (It's not quite where I thought it was)
you would probably be thinking of the bromyard site orginally

Sorry ashy I missed your question!
Err, no the TL4 is not hard to erect. However it takes us about 40 minutes in total, and the pack size is huge.
Don't get me wrong the TL is superb tent and we love ours. But Ottawa has a similar footprint size; has a pack size of around a third the size and takes less than 15 mins to pitch.
I'm glad there are so many 2-tent families. We've just bought a 4-berth in addition to our 8-berth. One for week-ends with just the OH and one for other familiy members to join us. Does the old canvas 5-berth frame tent in the loft count?
