Whilst I agree that the damage does look dramatic, it doesn't show what the tent had been through prior to the photo's had it been damaged in some way before the bad weather. I don't think that anyone should be put off of polyester tents as a result of this, most will carry on and give years and years of faithfull service with no ill effects whatsoever.
If you went to a large scrapyard and saw all of the twisted mangled wrecks of cars that come in as a result of accidents would this make you decide to give up your beloved Ford in a part exchange for a Centurian tank?
