Just spent last night garden camping - can't get away for a while yet so taking advantage of the good weather and having a tent sort out! Couldn't decide which to sleep in last night - chose the Calvi so I have to sleep out again tonight so the Calais doesn't get jealous  -

My husband and son garden camped on Friday night and then the mother in law visited and at 73 she decided she wanted in........ she had not camped for about 40 years and said she had the best nights sleep in ages.  She slept on a roll mat with a thermal fleece cover (usually goes over the air beds) and then a duvet on top.  She was warm and slept over 10 hours.

I know what you mean about the stiff back

Our last camp in the garden coincided with the kids having new matresses for their beds.

The old mattresses, instead of being taken away, made their way into the tent. It was luxurious (by camping standards!)

They are now stored in the house and I am desperately trying to think of a way to take them on our next camping holiday

Go Granny!

A couple of years back in France we saw a Dutch lady of about that sort of age apparently camping alone. We saw her sitting there every morning doing her crossword or writing postcards looking very much at peace with the world. Somewhere near the end of our 2 weeks we saw her right the other side of the site having dinner with what I guess was her large extended family.

I'm saving this idea for about 20 years time
