We're supposed to be going away for 2/3 nights on Friday, but according to the weather forecast, there's high winds expected all over Scotland. We're new to camping, so unsure whether to take a chance and go for it, or postpone our trip.
I am also going away but not camping, I am keeping my fingers crossed that the volcanic ash does not call off our flight tomorrow morning. Already wishing i had stuck with camping !
Take loads of pics so I can have a good look when I get back next Thursday.
Have loads of fun all.

Mrs Lennon - I am a bit worried about this too. We lvie in Kirkintilloch and took a battering with the winds on monday, trees coming down everywhere. We have a fibre glass pole vango tent, have jsut ordered delta pegsbut that is more for our 2 week summer holiday as a precaution incase weather changes suddenly overnight. I dont think I would camp in strong winds but in all honesty I dont know how strong is strong, so no idea what my cut off point is! We are meant to be going to Innerleithen near Peebles. At the moment the BBC 5 day forecast is showing wind of 20-23 MPH but the "gust factor" is 40-45. Is this over the limit? No idea!

We're at Shakespeare County Raceway in Stratford on Avon for the Yanks Weekend Drag races. I'm working Sat ,Sun Mon as I'm a track announcer there. My wife is coming with me along with a few friends from a car club. We're taking our 2002 Khyam Ridgidome XXL which has been to the moon and back, and must have nigh on 100 trips on it now. It's bulletproof and we love it but we're looking for a Longleat to replace it with for short trips. We have a mahoosive Aspen for the longer trips like Americana in July.
