Maybe we should all turn up there with massive 11-man bell tents and huge Outwell utilities, toilet tents, windbreaks and flatbed trucks with trailers!  Show him what REAL OTT camping is like.  That'd learn 'im!

FoO

I would love to back you up with this idea but couldn't afford it!!!

This is why we like staying on farms and basic sites I think! Our weekend cost us £14 for a large tent - no charge per person, no charge for the car. Lush long grass, a chatty farmer who couldn't have been a nicer bloke to spend time with, no shop, no clubhouse, not much of anything really apart from a couple of showers in the farmyard and a tap. Wouldn't have changed a single thing about the place!

My ideal site too Andy. Have stayed at several, just like that. Have also tried CCC and while friendly they are a bit too regimented for my liking and sort of Stepfordy

but always great facilities so variety is the spice I reckon. Love your idea FoO.

I stayed at a fab site in Somerset, only spoilt by the fact that every thing they could possibly charge for was itemised and was  too costly to stay long and that was a beautiful basic site, lots of fields with a stream, so its not just the other type of sites that can overcharge.

Our regular campsite is £7 pound a night per tent no matter the size, and no extra charge for utility 's or gazebo's.

Mind you there is no hook ups, no showers, no hot water, no lights around the site, just loads of peace and quiet and space, but that is priceles!

The site was Cae Du campsite Tywyn half way between Barmouth and Aberdovey on the west welsh coast. If you want to try it make sure you contact them and book as they are getting busier as each season comes along.

We looked at that site but glad we didn't go there as we have a Vermont XL, trailer, 7 seater car, 4 bikes and all the rest of the kit. Eeek me thinks he'd have had a hairy fit.

As it was we had a great hol at Dolgamedd Caravan & Camping Site (note to self...still to write my review!)

Hehe, yeah, it was a bit of a daydream!  It's a four-man tent and a Renault Megane for us, I'm afraid!
