I bought a fisherman's bed from Go Outdoors - it is terrific! Very cumfy... only downside it's a bit bulky to transport to the campsite... But a superb sleep. Do fishermen have higher standards than us campers??

They are fab, but they don't do double ones!

Have also been looking at beds recently,We have canvas camp beds after throwing numerous airbeds in the bin but are finding that they take longer to put up than the tents so need something quick and comfy....have looked at sims and aerobeds but just can't decide which is best .

I'd have said that was a bonus, I sleep much better when camping

I tried a SIM and it was ok, but not really comfy enough for me and took up far too much space in the car. We got a Campingaz double airbed from Argos last year and have now used it 9 times.... usually for 2 or 3 nights, but recently an 8 night break as well..... we pumped it up on arrival on that break, and it lasted the whole week, didn't need topping up at all. Not sure if we just got lucky as I've had other airbeds that have failed after just a few uses. I really hope this one carries on as it has done so far though!

Kathryn

i think it a self inflating mattress

never used one thou, in fact, i dont think i have ever seen one.

always use the cheap snides from go,10 quid for a double with your card ?

i get 4, sometimes 5 trips before there, good for nothing.

i wonder if a £70 aerobed would do 30 to 35 trips ? or last for 3 years ?

carp fishing beds are amazing, must give mine a go

Well you have certainly given me a lot to think about. I think I am leaning towards Nippery Slipple's link which is the 2 in 1 queen sized bed from a company called only airbeds. The price is definitely right to give it a try and like you say if one goes down then you still have the other one so will never wake up on the floor.
So big thankyou to Nippery Slipple!
Feel free to keep your ideas coming though, because I love hearing about the stuff everyone else has.

Be careful.   We got the Intex queen size - It lasted ONE trip and then got an unspecified leak that we just couldnt find so it ended up in the bin. Total waste of money.

I have given up with airbeds (after many comfortable years) but I am getting too old and stiff to scabble around off the floor.

I bought the folding campbed from Towsure (weight up to 120kg) and it is FAB!!! Takes seconds to erect, very strong and stable and SOOOOOO comfortable - wish I'd bought one years ago!!

This is the one I have:
