Check out a "Ridgemonkey" sandwich toaster (available on Amazon). You can cook toasties on a gas ring. Versatile, quick and easy lunch/ supper option! They are ace.

We always take a frozen one pot for the first or second night - usually a chill or sausage meatballs with homemade baked beans. Keeps the cool box colder and is defrosted by the time you want to eat it then easily warmed and served with sour cream, bread, tortillas, nacho crisps etc

Most one pot meals you make at home can be made on a camping stove... Curry, slag Bol, pesto pasta, tomato and olive pasta, risotto.
Full breakfast, local meat and fish on the BBQ, hot dogs, fajitas, omelettes, meat/ veg stir fry with straight to wok noodles, fried rice, steak sandwich, burgers...

I eat so much better when I'm camping than I do at home. Below just a handful of examples:

- Bbq'd home marinated tandoori chicken breast burgers
- Take a tub of home spiced/herbed lamb mince, either use this to bbq burger patties or Indian/Turkish style sheesh kebabs & have them in tortilla wraps
- Full English breakfast
- Eggs cooked in almost any variety
- Pasta bolognaise
- Jacket potatoes & frozen food which can be cooked in the halogen oven

I remain inspired by all the repeats of 'Floyd on x' shown on Saturday morning, Beeb1. He is shown using mainly one, sometimes two burner stoves in the outdoors (including a Coleman dual fuel) and cooks up a storm: usually involving tomatoes, onions etc and lots of herbs plue a few choice words. If he can cook gourmet meals on a camping stove, then I am sure I can do more than merely reheat pre-cooked store cupboard ingredients.

That said, I end up using sachets of cooked rice, couscous and other grains (only two of us so relatively good value) as it's so quick and only one pan to wash up. Gutting fish is a step too far.

Oh, and I do have a good slurp a la Floyd and the Galloping Gourmet (for those of a certain age).

Best meal I ever did was lamb shanks and mash! The lamb shanks were in the ambient temperature vacuum bags (may have been from costco), so they just needed boiling in the bag, and the mash was a good old packet of smash! It was bloomin lovely!

An easy one we do is Pizza using soft tortilla wraps. Spread tomato puree on one side of the wrap add some cheese then add your filling, my personal favourite is a few slices of chorizo and olives, fold in half and heat on a dry frying pan until the cheese has melted.
