never had any problems personally, but keep most things in car or well hidden.

No, we've never had any problems with crime on campsites.

However, we were once approached by a couple from a motorhome, who were going round the site asking if anyone had seen someone making off with 2 x camping chairs, which had been stolen from their pitch.

It seems they had gone off for the day and left these 2 x chairs, stacked up against each other, to 'mark' their pitch, then got back to find them gone. Turned out a family a few pitches up were happily sitting on them, eating their dinner. They'd not realised the motorhome campers had just gone out for the day, they thought the chairs had been dumped at the end of their stay and generously left for the next person to use!

Only a break in once. We were staying at a site in Cheddar and I awoke around 03:30 in the morning to find a cat all curled up in my side on the bed fast asleep!. I let him stay.

Other than that nothing!...

And still there the next day:

There was a lot of people there for the car show.

Im going there on Friday for 3 nights.

We've been a few times with the NSRA for hot rod shows in early June, a couple of years ago there was a lot of problems there like you say.

I don't like the site.

Other than that we've never had any problems (touch wood)

I have been going for years with friends, have been in AOC and VXSCC but my friends in Zlet just camp there and enjoy the show. Been in my yellow RS4(now gone) the last 3 years, but this year will be in a VW transporter :-)

Some bread and apples in our tent were eaten by an intruder once. We were worried it might have been a rat, but the campers on the next pitch had seen the culprit making his escape.

It was a squirrel.

Again, I've camped for 15 years without trouble, apart from the local wildlife.

Had nothing taken at all.

Mind you I don’t take anything valuable with me when camping, a cheap PAYG mobile for emergencies and a small pocket size digital camera is all I have worth pinching,  I don’t worry about any clothes, etc, being lost or stolen as they are all my old cast offs, unfit for the public eye, but fine for camping.

As many have already stated Campsites in general are a very safe and friendly place to be, if I did take any “valuables” I would just lock them in the car.

in the morning i found this.....

needless to say our breakfast of sausage butties turned into just sausages17

usually keep all food in sealed containers or zipped up in kitchen stand so i guess it serves me right17
