Jim jams, flip flops, clothes over the shoulder. Shower, get dressed and throw jim jams over the shoulder and walk back. Ive seen all sorts, shorts and t, dressing gowns, kaftans, joggy bottoms and sweatshirts. Go with whatever you are comfortable with.. we are all in the same boat.. or shower block and field :-)

Oh and love the mankini look hardylardy?

Dressing gown in normal British weather, or crops & t-shirt if it's hot. Have shower, put on clean panties with dressing gown/crops & t, towel on head, walk back to tent & get dressed in comfort.

I hide my blushes by going to shower block in one of these.....

Cut the bottom out, for ease of walking, and two holes in the front door to see through...... I'd suggest if you wear specs, to consider the "letter box" aperture option, for all round vision.
They are a bit cumbersome once you get to the shower block, and can sometimes get snagged on door hooks, so be careful. Ignore the stares as you stand in the queue..... I get lots of people looking and pointing, so it's obvious they all want one.

If you like camping luxuries, then this is for you. Because it is fully enclosed, you can get away with wearing just crocs..... and absolutely nothing else. So no wet clothes. Result!!
For the cooler months, just line the whole of the inside with half a dozen cheap tacky chavvy picnic blankets from B&...... B&....... (sorry I can't bring myself to type it!!!), with the waterproof plastic backing facing inwards, all secured to the mainframe with some Gorilla tape and an old thin rusty wire tent peg, bent to suit.

Drive a 4" nail into the inside of one of the frame legs, and you can hang your towel/bag etc up inside, leaving both hands free for balance, or even to clean your teeth on the way, saving valuable time, and freeing up the shower block quicker, which always gets brownie points from your fellow camper.
So, it's practical, discreet and makes you popular..... It don't get better than that!!

PS, Once you get the hang of it, you can even use it when you visit the loo....... so you won't need to get dressed for 3am wee-wee's! Just take care not to get it caught on the cistern handle, as you sit down, or it could get messy in there.

You still get the "great outdoors feel", whilst maintaining your dignity......... available from all good camping stores...... and GO Outdoors too, I believe!!!

I have a long towelling hoodie/dress thing that comes down to my knees. Less 'bedroomy' than a dressing gown and thick enough to be naughty naked nude underneath, allowing you to dry out before putting clothes on back at the ranch.

I bought mine but I'm sure it would be easy to make. Great for on the beach and for night-time trips to the loo.

Do what you feel comfy with yourself.

Mucker1884 that made me

Like an old-fashioned bathing machine!!!

But I do understand the OPs point: if you're quite new to things you don't want to look stupid and stand out as 'the clueless newbie'. Etiquette and unwritten rules apply to lots of things e.g. do you go naked in a sauna or wear a towel or your cossie, so this was a valid post and all praise to putting it out there. I expect lots of people would like to know 'the rules' too but were too shy to ask.

I really want to be camping now but OH is working. If you are at the mo, enjoy the summer whilst it's here, whatever you wear to the showers

I wear a burka. It's also handy because I can use both male and female facilities which means no queuing because no-one knows what the hell I am.

Seriously though. I just walk across the field in my jammie trousers and t-shirt. Usually carrying my clothes and toiletries under my arm. Although this week I dropped my underwear on the way to the shower block and only realised after my shower. Luckily they were still in the middle of the camping field, so I just went and picked them up and put them on. Good job it was early and no-one noticed me

Shell Island is the Chav Central of the camping world. Some of them even drive from home to the island in their PJs!!! You would not be out of place wearing your PJs to the shower block.

Oh, I totally agree. I never even gave it a thought, but I sincerely hope nobody, and particularly the OP, took offence. There was certainly no intention to ridicule.
