Hi Victoria,
Did you get away for your weekend? If so how did it go? What worked and what didn't?
Last weekend, I spent four nights under canvas (well, under poly) in the Lake District. On the final night the outside temperature dropped to about -5C. That night when I woke for a wee just before dawn I felt slightly chilly; nonetheless, I went back to sleep OK. During the other three nights the outside temperatures fell no lower than zero so I was nice and warm in my bag.
I was camping in a smallish tent (with no EHU or other heating) on grass in a sheltered spot. The bedding system I used was a 50mm SIM on top of a CCF mat ('rollmat'). I slept in an Alpkit SH800 down-filled sleeping bag (with my coat draped over the bag on the coldest night). Sleepwear was just a T-shirt for the first three nights but a long-sleeved shirt and thermal 'long-johns' on the coldest night.
