We have the Coleman Weathermaster L with an enclosed porch for two of us and four small dogs but we still struggle to fit everything in for ten days holiday. We were looking at the Maritsa 700 over the weekend but it seemed a bit too big for just the two of us. I may just go back and get it now!
We sold a Bear Lake 6 and bought a Hypercamp Eldorado and a 6x2 metre Tarp that fits nicely on the front, it's me, the wife, and our two young kids best thing we did was downsizing to a more traditional style tent... quick and easy to pitch, more room in the car, more time to enjoy with the children.. We have simplified our camping and are enjoying it more than ever.
------------- Is it too early for the tilley lamp..?
Bigger is better for me as I suffer with claustrophobia so I cant have a piddly little tent or I would just go mad! I have a sunncamp Kansas 8 and sometimes its just the two of us - mainly 3 but we love the extra space.
I also have a hi gear Mojave 5 but with the added porch it looks like an 8 man tent! I love the extra space for all my camping kitchens / furniture and play space for daughter
Yellowstone falls. Comes in at just shy of 8m by 4m. That's for the two of us plus the two dogs.
We've got bigger tent wise each year, starting with a vango 4 man pop up in 2010, then a higear gobi 4 in 2011, the Niagara Falls in 2012 and now the Yellowstone Falls.
We like our space when camping. We don't do any other form of holiday so we've made it as much a home from home as possible.
For one nighters and short weekend trips we take the nevada m. Got a brand new one with no faults for £17 last year. Great bargain!
------------- MAY 2017 - Loch Ken, Scotland
JUNE 2017 - Sango Sands, Durness, Scotland
AUGUST 2017 - Balloch O Dee, Galloway and Invergarry
SEPTEMBER 2017 - three brief trips
OCTOBER 2017 - hopefully one final trip before Halloween
We have a Vango calisto 500 with awning for just 2 of us so would not be able to criticise anyone for having a setup too big. All the space is great if weather bad and you have friends with small weekend tents to have dry social space for all.
