Don't decorate my tent - when I'm camping I want to be out and about.

Abundantly! We've got the works. Moroccan rugs, sari bunting, starry light string lights and tea light chandelier.
We're out and about most of the day but with usually back to the tent in the evening as we have three kids. We like to make it magical for them as camping is our only holiday.

It's a far cry from the two man dome tent we used to go camping in when we were just him and me alone.

Went to GO today and came away with a new dining table set. A six seater no less!
Of course this demanded a detour to Dunelm Mill on the way home for an oil cloth to make it pretty.

I get quite into the decor...our camping trips tend to be extended...a week or two, so it's worth the effort to create that home from home at the campsite.

I do love soft fairy lights and tealights/lanterns at night - it looks magical, although I admit blue and flashing LEDs etc leave me a little on edge.

Bunting I can take or leave, ditto the spinners and dreamcatchers. But, give me a gnome and flower troughs anyday - well, we did for Jubilee, courtesy of my sister, all in red, white and blue. It was gnome from gnome of course...

It's one of those each to their own moments and, providing it doesn't hurt me in any shape or form, live and let live to embellish or remain unadorned .

N.B. We do have (an unasked for 'gift') a collapsible vase - and yes, I have used it and it's remarkably stable (Betterware I believe).

Absolutely agree about flashing LEDS and those dreadful starey, hard blue lights.

I like everything to be gentle and twinkly, not brash and loud.

We don't do indoor decorating though we do now have matching table cloths for tables, although we do have one that is different.
We've had push in solar lights situated at "risk of trip" pegging points for ages (as my daughter fell over one and chipped her elbow - although not with us at the time)
Then last year, after much discussion, we purchased fairy lights for the front of the tent which are just a nice warm white, these do flash but we never put it on. Again this was for light only and they do the job but I admit they do look pretty. But I would only use these for 6 nights or more.
Although this year, following a thread on here, I did make a fairy light globe (although not for the tent) and a fairy light bowl which I can also turn upside down and make it into an overhead light....talking of which I must take photos and find the thread again to post.
I too have a "camping vase". My eldest bought it for me for Christmas - not sure whether or not I"ll use it as I don't normally have flowers in the tent, but it's in the box.
Like a lot of people, I do not like the blue/flashing/over the top lights. I don't mind them if they're over the other side of the field but I wouldn't really like to be in close proximity to them. Now, knowing our luck you just watch......................

What type of fairy lights do you use? Solar lights? Where do you put them?

We use battery powered waterproof 'Starry Night' string lights. These are tiny pin points of twinkly light on fine silver or copper wire which is totally malleable and will wrap around anything. Ours are warm white for ease on the eye.
They really do look beautiful.

I change where I put them according to my whim. Sometimes around the door and around the inside or outside of the tent. Sometimes they light up the roof of the canvas canopy we have rigged up outside to cook in. There's always a place for them somewhere. I have two long and one short set.
