I spent ages,alone pitching my tent at night by the light from the EHU unit on the camp,put all my now soaking stuff inside and put down carpet,put up massive campbed etc,went to plug in EHU to put heater on and get a brew going ,it didn't reach !!!!

An overnight trip wild camping saw us take everything we needed for such a bare minimum trip..... Apart from any cups, milk or food. It was in a remote location and no shops were open once we discovered the mistake. We ended up drinking black, sugarless coffee out of the dog water bowl.

Another time, camping in Oban. We had bought two airbeds a few months prior and had used them a few times, but didn't like them, and even discussed whilst packing that we'd change to camp beds for future trips. However we completely forgot to take them. Discovered the mistake on pitching. Mad rush to the nearest Tesco to buy two more of the nasty airbeds that we didn't actually like.
