Oooooh I'd love a two week holiday in my tent, unfortunately holiday spends means I can only manage a Max of 3 nights with the girls at the moment (one likes the arcades and the other likes the markets and I like the food...... Not cheap!)
One day :-)

Enjoyed tenting,
Enjoyed trailer-tenting,
Now loving caravanning 😊😊

Takes as long as it takes me.
Depends on things like how helpful the kids are - last year they were really good, and did most of the pitching, while I saw to the dog.
Once the tent is pitched and the bedroom pods set, so that we have somewhere to sleep, we sometimes take a break and go for a wander. Other times I have chased the kids and got stuff done on my own.

WOW, WOW, and thrice WOW!!

I'm a great believer in "Each to their own" etc. And of course, I wouldn't normally advocate domestic violence, nor indeed intrude upon other folks' marital arrangements, but I have to say, after reading those two sentences together...

"Well done you, for not even being tempted to lamp him one"!!

I'm almost embarrassed for husband-kind right now!!

Mucker, where have I said I wasn't tempted?

In fairness though, he does all the driving down to the campsite and the tents are my "babies" as he calls them.

Another use for him I discovered recently was when I tried to take the wheelclamp off the trailer, I had to phone him and get him to talk me through how to physically do it bit by bit, although now I can do it myself it is just the driving I need him for, mind you if push came to shove I could do that bit too only it would take longer cos I'm far too cautious pulling the trailer

Good point well made!

Anyway, I'm saying no more, in case he's reading over your shoulder... or worse, reading over mine!!

No worries there Mucker, he's a big bloke who used to play a bit of rugby in his day but is real gentle giant.

We laugh about it ourselves how much (or rather how little) he contributes to pitching/setting up.

He jokes he's not allowed to touch my tent and the looks the Dutch camper neighbours gave us when my two boys left for the bar (which I suggested) while me and dd pitched our Montana were priceless, I think they expected us to struggle.

My bell tent takes me about 30 minutes, then I take my time, I never worry about how long it takes me, the first day my plan is to get to the site & pitch the tent. I usually take food for the first day so I don't have to worry about getting food, if I'm tired. I usually have regular breaks, it does usually take a while as I've got bunting & fairy lights to put up as well.

Tent up in twenty then as long as I like to do everything else. My oh is a reluctant camper so drops me, the girls and the kit off then leaves us to it. He stresses me if he gets involved! Striking is a different matter, much quicker than set up....can do it all in half an hour!

I reckon all in it takes us 4-5 hours for a long stay and depending on weather time of arrival, etc we would usually spread that over two days, though to be honest I can't leaveit alone and am always tinkering

Full set up with camp kitchen and all stuff laid out as it should be, toilet set up and sims out with sleeping bags on, with both wife and myself working (and a little input from the small human) it can be done in under 2 hours. The tent and tarp only take about 30-45 mins of that time to put up, that helps! If we only go away for the weekend, we can nearly halve that.
