Yep Skiiddy, quite a good Trailer in that link, but to be fair it would not be much of an upgrade from what I have now.

Next Trailer would be a braked "Saris DV135 Van Body" great for camping gear, and would also be used for another project.

All work in progress, and we may even end up with a caravan when the time comes, but for now will be sticking with what we got.

We have always had a tralier and found it to be one of the most important pieces of camping equipment. Due to recently buying a folding camper and the fact the wife won't let me keep it my £2000 plus erode 163 with every conceivable extra is soon to be for sale if anybody is intresested.

Wow £2000+ for that Erde 163 even with all the extras, seems a lot, my Lider Alicante 2009 which is about the exact same size as the Erde 163, cost just £800 with all the extras!

Of course the Lider, looks like it was built in a Russian tractor factory, whilst the Erde looks as though it was designed by Pininfarini.

Bare trailer is £730. That is without the extension sides that are just shy of £500. The abs lid £400 plus, the load bars another £130. Shock absorbers, rear prop stands, Jockey wheel & spare wheel all separate.

Yep, it can be expensive buying a Trailer, the "Saris DV135 Van Body" that I am looking into works out at £1,750, although it is Braked, and can take 920kg!, and the volume is huge, about 4 x that of my current Trailer.

Francais, will you be able to re-coup some of your outlay by selling the older trailer?

I have already made enquiries about upgrading mine. Trailertek near Portsmouth will do a trade-in and I will be passing on the way to Portsmouth Harbour in the summer.

Obviously a deal is only on the cards if it is suitable. I won't go ahead if I'm offered a rubbish price.

Yep, a friend has said he would give me £500 for my existing Trailer, if I included the 520lt Fiamma UltraBox 3 RoofBox, I would be happy with that, although I would keep the Trailer Tongue Box, as that will be going onto the next Trailer.

To echo much of what Francais has said

Decent trailers are not cheap, we paid around £1500 for ours 12 months ago.

We should have spent that money years ago rather than dithering

You won't know how you managed without one.

Ours is a Saragos, Height extensions and load bars on ABS lid. We are sticking bikes on top this year.

Everything camping related lives in it, the trailer is kept safe and dry in a garage, when camping all the junk that we take is in the trailer and not packed around our ears. It made our journey to Provence a dream!

My advice would be to buy soon - we left it until Easter and the bloke didn't want to do much of a deal, if you can wait I suggest November and you'll be able to knock them down a bit.

You are going to end up towing something larger than our caravan
