Ok guys, some answers, the stove was ignited and had been for some time, with a small kettle on it. it was part way through boiling our SECOND coffee of the morning, so it have been used earlier, say 40 min. part used gas cylinder, fitted in the correct way, released when not in use, as per instructions, it was as if 4/5 of the burners sent a high power jet of gas across the tent, and it went with a loud bang. the flame must have travelled at least a meter or so.
