the ring and pins can be a made a bit easier by looseing the tenson straps on the black plastic corner pieces and the more you push the " legs " together this makes it slightly easy.

if you struggle when on your own with kids, put one pin in and peg down  then get kids to put foot against pole  while you go do the opposite   side, that will give you something to push against

the kids will be delighted to help. My grandson loves doing the guy ropes and pegging out he also likes to do all the windows in a morning

in your post you refered to your tent not being fire proof ,

no tents are fire proof .....some may be fire retardent 

i prefer to cook out side  if at all possible .....if its realy throwing it down you can always have a sandwhich etc.

if you have to cook in your tent just be aware of not getting near the tent  or (other things in the tent )with a naked flame also watch the ground sheet if you are cooking low down

i hope i'm in the nevada members club too    lol

I have the Nevada 5, got it last year and have not yet been able to get away.  Have put it up in the garden though, lots of space.  Have to wait till August to get to use it. Its not fair!!

We haven't got anything booked yet, but will probably go to the New Forest. Its one of the few places that my fairweather camper of a husband will go.

Just thought i'd let you know  i've just got back from  a weekend  at Rother Valley Country Park ,  in my Nevada 5   and i'm well impressed with it ,  This morning we had TORRENTIAL  rain  for a good hour or so  and the tent stood up  well  not a leak in site ,  Cant wait for August now
