...I was just thinkin about this. At home I must confess do very little cooking but when we're camping I do it all. We're away in France for 3 wks soon and I wanted some ideas on meals for the family....

....are there any well recommended camping/bbq cookbooks out there ?

We usually stick with tins, jars etc when weather is cool but get fed up with that and miss fresh veg and mear. When it is sunny we utilise the Cadac and cook almost anything we fancy. This year have got the pealla pan which is fantastic. Can't wait for France and lots of fresh food and salads!

It's not known as 'silly season' amongst the north wales locals for nothing! I know, I lived there for the best part of 20 years. (Just down the road from ty mawr!)

We have tinned burgers, tinned spuds and veg, sometimes we push the boat out and have sausages under the grill!! If we were camping for more than a week then fair enough we would prepare better meals, for the week though we alternate with tinned meals and takeaways.

I suppose it depends on your attitude toward food, if good food is a major source of pleasure in your life and a key part of a good holiday you'll make the effort out of love of it and it won't feel like one if you know what I mean.
