Erm...yes we were...( Toms having a nap so I'm replying  instead..!) Did you go too...? We're off to Castle Howard in August to see them again...Mixing two great loves...camping and TBS..! Can't beat it..!

Nearest we've been was Highbridge, Somerset last year. Only done two trips this year, Glasgow (320 miles) for two nights, and Isle of Wight for two nights.

We went to the Dalby Forest last year, we are going to castle Howard too, where are you camping? We are looking for somewhere at the moment.

We went to the Dalby Forest last year, we are going to castle Howard too, where are you camping? We are looking for somewhere at the moment.

We're staying at Slingby C&CC site

 We're booked in from Thursday - Sunday. We did try to get on to Castle Howards campsite but they are full, because of the Proms on the Saturday night. Great if we could meet up..!

We live about a 20 min drive from Youlbury Scout Activity centre (local scout camp site) I go there quite a few times a year, it's bliss, loads of different campsites, quiet little wooded areas, my lads love it, only problem is the OH can't come unless it is a family camp .I'll have to get him trained up as a scout leader then we could have lot's more weekends up there.

Went to Cromer last friday afternoon, leaving London about 3.30pm. 5.30pm and several diversions and queues later, we just about make it outside the m25.

Drove another 1.5 hours or so noticing along the way an increasingly eggy smell in the car. satisfied it was neither the baby or either of the dogs, we pulled over and popped the bonnet -the battery was boiling and steaming like a kettle, looking very dangerous! (alternator gone)

Another 2 hours later we arrived on site, on the back of a recovery truck. Pitched the tent in the dark, and bedded down. Up at 7.30am Sat morn and headed into town to find a mechanic to be towed to -no one available til following wednesday!! Gave up, walked the dogs to the beach, ate, went to bed, up at 7am Sunday morning, phoned recovery service (Brittania) and awaited our 4.5 hour tow back to London.

Cornwall next week God help us!

 our cloest trip has been stratford upon avon aprox 30 kmiles our furthest so far has been isle of skye aprox 570 miles

our closest trip is was only 3or 4 miles from home. The beauty of camping is that once you are pitched and the kettle is on, you feel like you could be anywhere in the country.

Our closest was Kessingland Suffolk at 20 miles, the furthest was the La Fosse de Tigne in the Loire Valley France, about 7 hours from Calais

When we had our trailer tent, for the first time away, we ventured to Colchester Camping.  This being about 10 miles from where we lived.  We went there, in case we couldn't manage it, had an argument, threatened divorce, or something else.  In the end everything was fine.

Sometimes it's just nice to get away from it all.  If only our back garden was bigger....
