Hi Claire I know Alnwick well as I lived in Clayport Gardens for 12 years!!!
Kids went to St Michaels ;-)
Try Barrons the Caravan shop at Darlington...its a lovely but very long drive from Rothbury!!! OR its just off the A1 which is on your way to Catterick (love the Sunday market!)

Hiya Ellie! Nice to know that someone knows where I'm from! I live at St. James' just by the football club.......small world. So do you live in Rothbury now? Bet you have same prob as me then when trying to buy camping gear, theres just nothing around for miles, UBC is about a 30 mile drive..........mental! North North East in Alnwick have the tiniest range of camping gear which is a shame cos I reckon they would do really well if they had a good camping/outdoor range, they just dont have the room to display it. Anyway, thanks for the tips above, maybe talk to you again soon?
hi im fairly new to amping and this site, well i have hovered around a bit lol but in case any one in north east is intereted ubc have an open weeked this weekend, bouncy castles and things for the kids and all tents now erected, going ourselves tomorrow to see if we can grab a bargain.
Ha Ha, you make me laugh! Shame I've just read this, too late now though! Been pitching our new tent today and to be honest after all the grief its given us today I would have much rather of been shopping!!
there was also a camping shop at ord house campsite in berwick , had qiute a lot of tents sleeping bags lights and all the other stuff etc , a camping shop in its own right more than a site shop with accesories . not huge like the others though , but handy if you around there
fatlad from south shields...yes we was there 2 ended up buying a new tent, son wont go in the one we bought last year cos its got a bit mould on, asked around but nothing will shift it, apparantly milton sterilising fluid will contain it but thats all yes it was very busy but got us all excited, cant wait for our first trip away.

Yeah, thanks for that, my dad used to go up there quite alot when they had there static caravan, bought stuff like halogen heaters etc. Said it was quite good. We never really go to Berwick though (maybe 2 or 3 times a year) Def worth bearing in mind though. Can check out their campsite facilities whilst we are there! Hear its supposed to be quite nice.
I'm sure I keep going on about it but I really liked UBC, its so cheap! Going to see my mum this weekend so will def have to call in at Catterick Caravans and camping and whats the other one just next to it..........Ropers? Need a camp kitchen and could do with a new table. More expense!!!!!!
we bought a wynster cygnus, last years model but was only £120 not bad i thought, also bought new fridge, cups, water bottle and heater while we were there, im gonna have to stay away or i wont be able to afford to use them lol
Thats the only problem isnt it? Its really cheap so you feel you have to take advantage of the prices and spend spend spend! We go to Center Parcs twice a year (which we totally love) and due to go again in May but really wishing we had given it a miss this year and taken advantage of all the new gear we have been buying since last summer. After that we will be skint so maybe wont get away as much as we would like this summer. Just want to get away in the tent now, hopefully wkend after the bank holiday when its not quite as manic everywhere! (Not as many people to laugh at us trying to master how to put up the bloomin massive thing!!!!!!)
