Well I have just returned from Wales, I erected the troublesome Montana 6 and Hey Presto, surprise, surprise, she went up perfectly!! No sign of the original problem, I'm absolutely over the moon.
I was at first suspicious that Gooutdoors had changed the tent with out telling me, because the tent went up so easily with none of the problems I had described in the original post on this thread, but when I checked for a small tag in the front fly screen that was on the original, it was still there so I have still got the same tent, obviously the fault lies in my in inexperience in erecting the Montana 6.
I therefore offer my sincere apologies to Outwell for criticising their tent. Also I thank you for all the help and advice offered by all the posters on this thread.
