"I'll howd this pole, and when i nod me ed you it it" is the worst thing you can say to OH while putting the windbreak up, just after youve argued for the past 2 hours putting the tent up.

At one time we didn't have one at all, but we got so fed up of people wandering too close to the tent that we decided to get a couple of small ones. We now have a 27ft 10-pole job which we use to make an enclosure round the sides and front of the tt so the dogs can wander about without being on the lead all the time.

The flags are useful if the site is busy so that your children can see where the tent is and find their way back.  The ukcs one alo advetises the site.

Hi all
what a post, the first wind breaks were made for the beach to stop sand blowing on you, and they worked fine, the second reason is to give us good people on ukcampsite something to discuss And why should we not fly flags if we want to.it is just a smaller version of a lightweight tent flaping about
Rex

We have two of the cheap and nasty windbreaks that we bought to shelter the stove when camped on a very windy site in the lakes.

They're utterly useless, but we always take them. Their purpose is to give OH something to do that will keep him busy and make him think he is doing something useful. He can spend ages every day relocating and readjusting the windbreaks, and while he's doing that, he's keeping out of my hair and not asking me to help him with the cryptic crossword while I'm trying to read my book.

It also means I can have a laugh watching him trying to fit them into the car in 8 different ways when we load up, when anyone can see that there is only one way they can possibly fit. We've had them 5 years, you'd think he'd have learned by now.
