Got as far as page 2 and dislocated wrists - that was enough...

Afraid I can trump everyone though. While staying in a static van on the annual family holiday (is that camping) back in '82 - me dad had a heart attack and croaked it (honest)   Spoilt the holiday it did.

Went to Woolacombe about 14 years ago, and for our last night drove to the local indian take away.

Got back to the tent with piping hot food, sat down on the chair, with plate in hand, and cold beer in other hand, chair collapsed, and got covered in a very hot Chicken Madras...and then cooled off with cold beer.. Wifey still laughs about it now, but it was not funny at the time, as I was bloody starving...

Worse camping injury for me would be a tooth abcess.

You've just refreshed a bad memory for me

Went to the Lakes with my ex & a couple of friends on the Friday night of a bank holiday weekend. Everything fine. Good fried breakfast on Saturday, then drove up to Edinburgh in the afternoon. The whole of the left side of my face started aching, but we'd left first aid kit in the tent. Didn't see much of Edinburgh cos we spent all our time looking for a chemist which was still open to get some strong pain killers. I thought it was very bad toothache.

The campsite owner very kindly 'phoned around all the local dentists to see if one was open for emergencies - all of them had an answerphone message saying 'closed till Tuesday'. Didn't want to come home & spoil it for ex & mates, but I don't remember much about the holiday as I was dosed up with pain killers, but still in agony. Went to local dentist on Tuesday morning (an old fashioned, no-nonsense dentist). He pulled the tooth out with a big abscess attached to the root of the tooth. Although it had gone, my jaw still ached on the journey home that day, but I was just so thankful that the abscess hadn't burst when he pulled the tooth out.
