We have a luggable loo which you can have bags to put in them called double doodie bags which you can purchase from e-bay they have gel crystals in them which solidifys everything that goes onto it and when the bag is full or you have finished you just tie the bag then put it in a bin the crystals are also enviromently friendly and biodegradable

Petty, did you not use the toilet fluid in the bottom waste tank as the loo roll should break down.

The loo roll in ours breaks down fine and emptying isn't a problem. What fluid did you use Peety?

My friends went to V last year, I'm pretty sure they took her camper van and used the portaloo (rather than a bucket and wag bags). She'll be at Crufts at the mo but I'll check with her next week whether there were CDP points.

We use a nappy bucket with a lid! yes it could be unstable but so far there haven't been any accidents! But up till now it's just been me and hubby and we've only used it during evening/night. Now the eldest is potty trained i imagine it'll get more use but i think it'll do us for a while. we hide it in the tent and use when needs be.  We have been emptying it in the normal loos as i didn't think i'd be able to use normal CDP but now i know i will!

It's cheap as chips as well, visit your local mothercare and the lid stops the smell

Even though the porta potti is much more expensive than the kampa-khazzi,and has a flushing device, i still prefer the kampa-khazzi because it is that little bit higher than the porta potti and is more comfortable . I can finish a whole crossword puzzle and get up without a struggle.

We used the Aqua chem green, I refuse to use the blue ones for environmental reasons.
I think people need to remember that at festivals the toilet will be used for number 2's as well and this means more water to flush more toilet paper, more emptying. At a festival you want to be off enjoying the music not spending hours each day having to queue to empty the loo.
It is up to everyone to make up there own opinion, I was really keen to use my new porta loo, I though it would be less smelly easier to empty and i am sure it would be on a normal campsite, but for festivals from now on i will stick to the bucket style.
Candice99: Good luck at the festies, I am going to attempt to get glasto tickets (have failed for the last 10 year, something to do with the telephone exchange where we live not being up to date) failing that i will be off to latitude again.

Blimey I am fickle, I was obviously feeling a lot more optimistic about the whole thing at that moment.
Anyway the post includes a few tips I had forgotten about on how I overcame the porta loo adversity. . Apparently the loo roll problem was indeed sorted out with chemicals.
